Our Story

 

The Keep is a contemporary British footwear brand, with a simple philosophy –that if you have shoes and accessories that pair brilliantly with what’s in your wardrobe, and that remain as timeless as the day they were bought, they’ll be loved for longer.

Founded by footwear and accessories designer Ali Maclean and stylist Jemma Cotterrell, The Keep is taking a deliberately slow fashion approach to footwear to encourage its customers to invest in longevity as well as stylish design.

After first meeting whilst working on the footwear collections for Nicole Farhi and Lulu Guinness 20 years ago, Ali and Jemma’s shared love of beautifully made shoes with an added twist of individuality and personality has been the driving inspiration behind the brand.

To deliver on The Keep’s longevity ethos, each pair is crafted from high-quality Spanish leathers by a team of artisan shoemakers. Production is fully traceable, and all styles are made in a socially and environmentally responsible way using leathers obtained as by products from the food industry cured in LWG-certified tanneries, with linings that are 100% chrome free.
